1. Station: Wer Qufu (Tschii-fu) sagt, meint eigentlich Kong Tse (Konfuzius). Alles in dieser kleinen Stadt dreht sich um diesen altertümlichen Philiosphen und Lehrer, der von 551 bis 479 vor Christus hier lebte und wirkte.

Gleich hinter der Stadtmauer beginnt der Tempel des Konfuzius.

Confucius' temple is located right behind the city wall.

Der Tempel hat riesige Ausmasse (etwa 1 km lang und 150 m breit) und ist ein UNESCO Weltkulturerbe.

The temple is huge (about ⅔ of a mile long and 500 ft wide) and is an UNESCO World heritage site.

Einige Renovationsarbeiten wären dringend nötig.

Konfuzius wird verehrt wie ein Gott.

Aber eigentlich war er Lehrer und Philosoph.

Ausserhalb des Tempels ist Qufu eine normale chinesische Kleinstadt mit nur wenigen Attraktionen.

Outside the temple Qufu is an average small town with only a few attractions.

2. Station: Taishan, der Wichtigste der fünf heiligen Berge des Daoismus. Ein UNESCO Weltnatur- und -kulturerbe.

Den Weg zwischen dem Autoparkplatz und der Seilbahn-Talstation kann man mit dem Bus oder in einer etwa 4 ½ stündigen Wanderung zurücklegen.

Between the car parking lot and the lower terminus of the cable car you could either take the bus or hike for about 4 ½ hours.

Die Wanderung lohnt sich auf jeder Fall.

Hiking is definitely worth the effort.

Die Seilbahn entschädigt dann für die Anstrengungen.

The cable car pays back for the effort.

Und lässt auch etwas Heimatgefühle aufkommen.

Aber da wäre auch noch die Hardcore-Wandermöglichkeit: Nochmals etwa sechs Stunden eine sehr steile Treppe hochsteigen.
